T.K. Udairam

Sheares Singapore / International Chief Executive Officer

Udairam oversees all operational aspects of Sheares Healthcare Group and provides strategic guidance to our portfolio companies.

Before joining Sheares Healthcare, Udairam was the Group CEO of Eastern Health Alliance, a regional healthcare system responsible for approximately 1.1 million people, and the CEO of Changi General Hospital. Prior to that, Udairam played a key role in developing and implementing the first computerised hospital administration system in Singapore in 1984, including the rollout of Medisave, the national medical care savings scheme in Singapore.

Udairam currently sits on the board of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS). With 40 years of experience in healthcare operations, hospital administration and management, he has served as the Chair of various IT committees in public healthcare.

Khoo Ee Ping

Chief Corporate Development Officer

Ee Ping leads Sheares Healthcare Group’s corporate development initiatives and advises on the strategic direction and development of our portfolio companies.

Ee Ping is an investment professional with 20 years of experience in enterprise development, advisory and policy making. His career spans both the public and private sector. He was Deputy Director (Policy) at the Singapore Ministry of Defence, and also served as Principal at Bain & Company. He joined Sheares Healthcare from Temasek where he worked closely with portfolio companies on corporate strategy, merger & acquisition, and company transformation.

A/Prof Low Cheng Ooi

Chief Technology Officer

Cheng Ooi as Chief Technology Officer is responsible for developing and implementing the technology strategies for Sheares Healthcare Group.

Cheng Ooi trained and worked as an Orthopaedic surgeon in the public service sector since 1990 and was appointed Head of Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Changi General Hospital before becoming Chairman of the Medical Board in 2012.

With his interest in medical informatics and health technology, he held concurrent appointments as Chief Medical Informatics Officer in SingHealth Services and Eastern Health Alliance while in clinical practice. He was subsequently seconded to Ministry of Health in 2012 and provided strategic leadership for the development of the Healthcare IT Masterplan, and implementation of national health IT programmes for Singapore’s healthcare system, including the National Electronic Health Record system to achieve the vision of ‘One Patient, One Health Record’. He has also worked closely with CMIOs in the public healthcare sector to facilitate and implement the clusters’ electronic medical records systems.

Ellon Xu

Sheares China Chief Executive Officer

Ellon Xu is responsible for Sheares Healthcare’s China business, driving the development of our strategy in China and working closely with our portfolio companies to deliver performance.

Prior to joining Sheares, Ellon had a successful career in management consulting first with Monitor Group and then with Bain & Company, focusing primarily on healthcare businesses. This was followed by several years leading the greenfield development of a Sino-German joint venture hospital in Shanghai as its founding CEO. Most recently, Ellon was Vice President Strategy at Fosun Healthcare Holdings.

Ellon graduated from Shanghai Medical College of Fudan University with a Bachelor degree in Clinical Medicine. He also holds a Master degree in Business Administration from University of California at Berkeley.
